l1000610aYour wedding ceremony may be anything from an intimate gathering to a grand affair.

I will spend time with you and get to know you so I am able to develop a personalised, beautiful, meaningful and unforgettable  ceremony for your special day.  I will offer  you a variety of resources, vows, poems, readings and symbolic rituals to choose from.  It is your wedding day and it is important that your ceremony reflects your individual requirements and beliefs.  You may wish to involve family members, pets or special friends in your ceremony ... anything is possible!

Alternatively you may wish to write your own ceremony and I will review and assist you as required.  Your ceremony may be conducted anywhere at anytime.

A professional quality wireless P.A. system with CD and USB port is available to ensure all your guests can hear the ceremony.  I have a sound technician managing the PA, the microphones and the music at your ceremony.  I also provide red carpet for the bride's arrival, Bali flags for a beach ceremony, signing table and chairs, ring cushion and feather pen ... all included in my fee.

I will provide all legal documentation and ensure that all legal requirements are fulfilled (see formalities / legal requirements).

The following agencies offer courses and counselling which may be helpful to you as you attempt to make your relationship a strong and lasting one:

  • Relationships Australia
  • Family Services Australia
  • Stepfamily Zone
  • Anglicare SA
  • Family Relationships Centre

Your Ceremony

Your unique ceremony can be divided into the following sections and can appear in any order.  These can be added to, re-arranged or deleted to suit your wishes and needs.  I will develop an initial draft ceremony following our first meeting and will then email it backwards and forward to you until it is exactly what you want.

Note: Three elements are essential for the marriage to be legal:

  1. A declaration of your intention to marriage
  2. Exchange of vows
  3. The identification of the celebrant

The remaining elements are up to you.  This is your ceremony and it should be reflective of the two of you, so please feel free to be creative with what you request - this is a guide only to give you a sense of what can be included:

  • Pre-ceremonial music
  • Entrance music and entrance of the bridal party
  • Welcome - housekeeping information
  • Thanks to parent/parents-in-law and family members
  • Acknowledgement of absent or deceased friends or family and guests who have travelled long distances
  • The Giving Away
  • Introduction and brief history of your life together
  • The Asking (the "I do" part)
  • Vows (your personal promises to one another)
  • Exchange of rings
  • Declaration of you as husband and wife ... and the kiss
  • Readings/poems/songs etc
  • Interactive symbolic events (candles, wine, sand  etc)
  • Music/signing of register and certificate presentation
  • Information about photos and reception
  • Conclusion
